New Heavy Duty 7090 Auto Scrap Shredder Sold, 2nd Shredder Placed in Production

21 August 2010

Trussville, AL…..US Shredder announced today that it has sold its first 7090 Heavy Duty Scrap Shredder to a mid-west scrap processor.  The new model was sold after only 4 months since its’ unveiling at the 2010 ISRI convention.

The shredder was designed to specifically compete with 6085 models in regards to price, but that is where the comparison ends.   The rotor that provides up to 30% more hammer impact and 12% wider provides advantages in: thickness of scrap that can be shred, efficiency of motor, and longevity of the shredder itself.   Many shredder experts agree that the 6085 is relatively a non ferrous or light ferrous shredder.  According to company President Bill Tigner, “The basic size of the 6085 is primarily the problem.  The strength and durability of our rotor will eliminate many of the maintenance and service issues associated with smaller, lighter shredders. Our new shredder will give operators advantages they have not had to date.  Scrap processors have been amazed that we can produce such a heavy shredder at a similar investment as the smaller 6085.”

US Shredder Engineers worked closely with its Fabrication team to build a bigger, heavier shredder with a design that allows the shredder to be built at the cost of the lighter competitive models.
State of the art controls, hydraulics, and long lasting castings are all provided with the new shredder.  The shredder will be operated by a DC 2300 HP drive system.

“With the interest we’ve received in this new model, we decided to place a 2nd shredder into production for a quick delivery for our next customer,” Tigner added.

The US Shredder and Castings Group offers scrap shredders, control systems, downstream
