US Shredder Announces New Engineering Division- Focus on Turnkey Installation Services

5 January 2011

Trussville, AL…..The US Shredder announced today it has formed a new Engineering Division that will be focused on providing the scrap industry with full engineering services for construction and installation of its equipment line.

The company will combine its existing engineering services with Thompson, Dreesen & Donner, an engineering group headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska.  TD&D has been involved with engineering for recycling facilities for over 10 years.  According to company president Bill Tigner, “This is a unique and significant offering to the scrap industry.  Most shredder companies after securing an order provide minimal information to the customer other than basic loads and installation supervision.  Our group will be able to provide the local general contractor with complete construction plans to begin the installation process.  The experience of our group will save the shredder customer both time and tens of thousands of dollars in engineering.”

The engineering services will include but not limited to:

·       Facility layout, including railroad and driveway location

·       Design of foundations and piers of the shredder system

·       Design of Motor House including plans for hydraulic and electrical installation

·       Design of stairs, platforms and bunkers

·       Design of all system electrical utilities including HVAC, heating, ventilation, lighting, power, telecommunication pathways.

·       Construction administration including review of all inspection and test reports

The US Shredder offers scrap shredders, control systems, downstream systems, non ferrous recovery, air systems, scrap shears, balers, and loggers; as well as shredder castings, service, engineering and consulting to the worldwide scrap industry.  For more information, please contact Bill Tigner at 205-999-7670.
